thailand2Kickboxing and Mauy Thai practiced at our centre is taught in a structured, energetic modern manner by highly qualified instructors, no experience is necessary as we make allowances for everyone’s ability and happily adapt techniques to work for you.

You will learn from a broad curriculum designed for combat and self-defense, an average session includes many variations of pad work, bag work, shadow, grappling, weights, sparring, attack sessions and technique work. Train hard for a black belt with regular gradings held every 2 months, with a 4 month (attending a min of 2 classes per week) qualifying period, we also have separate fighters classes for those choosing to test their skills in competition, or you can just train at your own pace, working to achieving your own fitness & self-defence goals.

Personal training, & small group training is available by appointment. The age limit for these classes generally begins at 14 though exceptions have been made.

semibulldogOur centre also hosts & attends regular competitions. You can start with Semi-Contact competition, these are generally held every 8 – 10 weeks either at our centre, in Wollongong or in Sydney. They are promoted as a fun day, though still giving the fighter a realistic taste of controlled competition. If you’re looking for the ultimate, personal test of skill in combat, and reaching unparalleled fitness levels, Full Contact Competition is a regular option. Those who qualify can join our fighter’s class, have special membership options and receive personal tuition.

GRADINGS

The Ranking system is a very important aspect of all Martial Arts giving the Instructor & Association an accurate knowledge of the students experience & progression, this determines their position in the class as well as fixing clear goals in the students mind for perfecting each Grade. It also helps in the matching suitable opponents in competition. Adult gradings are held every two months, though a student can only grade every 4 months providing they are training a minimum of twice per week, the wearing of belts for adults is not compulsory untill black belt, though a student’s does have to wear an arm band during class.

Depending on the progression of the group or person, every student is accessed on their individual skill & dedication, physical disadvantages and age are taken into account, the instructor may then base a decision on the students understanding of the task being attempted.
