Junior Kick-Defence is the next step up from our Little Ninjas program, it is a modern, upbeat and challenging self defence course specifically targeting children between 7-14 years old.

IMG_0460This exciting modern mix of kickboxing, karate, jujitsu and jo-jitsu is designed again to offer fun, focused and dynamic training in life skills, fitness and self defense.

All children will receive a training manual upon registration, this manual breaks down the curriculum so it can be followed and practiced easily. Our classes include fun physical activities, focused technique work, strength & conditioning, pad work, bag work, practical weapons and teamwork.

IMG_0416During all our classes we allow the children to have fun, though, discipline is learned through the teaching of RESPECT, this is expected every class and is included as a component in their training manuals.

There is always one instructor per 5 students to ensure safety and quality training. We offer 2 Junior K/D classes, the first is for beginners, once they receive their green belt they can move forward into our advanced class, here they will learn the Japanese Jo(short staff) more advanced Ju-jitsu and dynamic kickboxing techniques. Light sparring is an option though not required until adult level, our focus is pure self defence and by black belt every student will be able to defend themselves from most life threatening situations.

We will give your children the confidence, and skills required to succeed and survive in the 21st century.

GRADINGS

IMG_2744The Ranking system is a very important aspect of all Martial Arts giving the Instructor & Association an accurate knowledge of the students experience & progression, this determines their position in the class as well as fixing clear GOALS in the students mind for perfecting each grade.

All juniors work on a stripe system and may grade approx every 3 months, depending on the school term and must attend 2 classes per week, all juniors follow a very structured curriculum and are awarded black stripes every fortnight based on their attendance and knowledge of the skill group being practiced during that time, each student must achieve a minimum of 4 stripes to grade.

Depending on the progression of the group or person, every student is accessed on their individual skill & dedication, physical disadvantages and age are taken into account, the instructor may then base a decision on the students understanding of the task being attempted.
